Borobudur is a 9th-century Mahayana Buddhist temple located in Central Java, Indonesia. It is one of the largest and most famous Buddhist temples in the world and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The temple is constructed on a hill and consists of nine stacked platforms, six square and three circular, topped by a central dome. The entire structure is built from over 2 million blocks of volcanic stone and was constructed without the use of any cement or mortar.
